Peter Wolf Crier * Duncan & Johnson * Chase Hamblin

Peter Wolf Crier - (Minneapolis, MN) "Pisano and Moen, as a duo, are powerful and direct. They play off each other without eye contact- with Pisano singing himself red and veiny and Moen unleashing imaginative and dynamic percussion- creating a less experimental and quirky, but equally thrilling sound as do Meric Long and Logan Kroeber of Dodos." - DAYTROTTER

"Together, these two make a bulletproof team: Pisano's plainspoken songwriting is right at home next to the holyshit percussive textures of Moen's capable churning" - THE TRIPWIRE

"Pisano and Moen present a collection of songs that forcibly combine acoustic intimacy with distortion-addled detachment; it's a paradox of sound that nods to country blues in arrangement, but sidesteps stereotypical sentiments for deeply personal expressions" - PASTE MAGAZINE

"Pisano sings 'Hard as Nails' and 'You're So High' with a sweet lonesome twitch in his voice, allowing the catch in his throat to override any questions his lyrics might portray. Still, this is a playful work with the likes of 'Down Down Down' and 'Saturday Night,' making it a special brand of ruckus" - FILTER

"Pisano sings in a rangy falsetto. His songwriting is ragged, understated, and striking above all else. Moen's textural contributions are just as subtle. Though Inter-Be sounds roughly hewn at times, it's an album woven together with great care and a sharp ear for detail" - PITCHFORK

About Peter Wolf Crier and the debut album Inter-Be

Inter-Be is the debut album by Peter Wolf Crier, the Minneapolis-based duo of Peter Pisano and Brian Moen. The album was born on a single summer night when Pisano felt a torrent of creativity after what had felt, to him, like an interminably long dry spell. He shared the songs with Moen, and over the months that followed, at Moen's home, these rough-hewed tunes became what they are now: a confident collection of songs, but deceptive in that their very guts still reflect the thoughts of a man in transition.

Pisano's is not a new songwriting voice. He is best known for being part of the Wars of 1812, an ascendant Wisconsin-bred quartet. Their first album together, Status Quo Ante Bellum, was more than just an album. It was relocation and aspiration and Pisano's lyrical Eden. As the Wars went on hiatus, Pisano continued to hone his craft, keeping his days full as a teacher at a small private school while fine-tuning, at night, the songs that would soon become Inter-Be. Feeling confident in the songs, Pisano approached Moen, a seasoned drummer and engineer best known for his involvement in Laarks and Amateur Love. After being asked to add some percussive elements, Moen added his thundering drum rolls and perfectly timed fills, but he also added something much more: a melodic soundscape that would complete the evolution of the songs. So was born the partnership that is called Peter Wolf Crier.

Duncan & Johnson - (Houston, TX) Rock / Garage / Indie

Chase Hamblin - (Houston, TX) The descendant of one of America’s first Gypsies and the great grandson of a Vaudeville songwriter, Chase Hamblin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was raised in Italy, France, and Singapore. His travels have taken him throughout Europe and Southeast Asia and from coast to coast across the US. Chase’s music channels many styles and influences from psychedelic folk and Texas swing to super pop and glam rock ‘n’ roll. His lyrics are thoughtful, poetic insights into the ills and the thrills of the human experience.

Chase has performed and toured as a solo artist and in several bands, most notably the critically acclaimed Penny Royal. With the break up of Penny Royal in 2008, Chase began work on his debut solo EP, A Fine Time, with former Penny Royal front man Derek Dunivan as producer and arranger. A Fine Time was recorded at the historic Sugar Hill Studios in Houston, TX and was independently released in June 2009. A Fine Time ranked 5 on Power Pop Station Brasil’s Top 10 EPs of 2009 and 11 on Absolute Powerpop’s Top 15 EPs of 2009.

Chase is currently recording a new full length album, Can You See The Beast?, at Sugar Hill Studios. His award-winning band features multi-instrumentalist Geoffrey Muller (Sideshow Tramps) on bass, singer/songwriter Robert Ellis (Grandfather Child) on drums, Corey Power (Ragged Hearts) on guitar and backing vocals, and jazz/rock pianist Jeremy Nuncio.
