Luxurata * Alkari * Fake Believe

Luxurata - (Houston, TX) New album 1000 Days comes out October 2nd. Listen to it live that night at Rudyard's!

Luxurata was formed in the spring of 2002 and consisted of long time musical collaborators Mike Porterfield (vocals & bass) and Brian Schack (guitar), Dave Darby (drums, formerly of Ruskabank) and James Supak (guitar). The original line up changed in 2004 with the departure of James Supak and the addition of guitarist Dave Billingsley (formerly Lima Sugar). The diverse musical background of its members comes together in the unique alt-pop/indie rock sound of the band. Compositions range from sonic guitar rock to delicate melodies. This is captured in the bands first E.P. "Astronomy for Beginners" and can be seen at their regional live shows. Luxurata plans to record its follow up soon, as well as playing a multitude of live shows in a club near you

Alkari - (Houston, TX) Regarding "If I Could": "...The guitars are fucking awesome, in particular, thick and substantial and almost bluesy at times. Plus, there's a warm, friendly, unpretentious sound to the whole thing, like it tumbled out of some long-forgotten Twin/Tone vault somewhere... " Courtesy www.SpaceCityRock.com

"'The Code' from Alkari’s 2008 Kublai Khan ep has been floating around in our head lately..." Courtesy www.theskyline.net

"...you also get one of the best flat-out rock bands in town with Alkari -- they do some nice, smart (but not over-brainy) indie-ish rock that I honestly have a hard time categorizing." Courtesy www.SpaceCityRock.com

Fake Believe - (Houston, TX ) Hard as steel, each note a rivet, every beat bolted in place- Fake Believe is a unique blend of anthemic hooks, honest lyrics, and Indie Synth Pop that will play in your head long after your iPod's batteries die.
