Thankfully, Rudz has stepped forward to devote one night a week to nurturing newcomers and showcasing seasoned vets…you can check out a rotating cast of characters, for free — you’d be pretty hard-pressed to find a more fun way to spend a Monday night. Especially if your next Monday night involves going to a funeral. Trust us, this’ll be waaaay funnier.” – Houston Press

Saturday 16 February 2019 – Easy Credit Group Presents: Cactus Flowers, Treehouse Project, The High Mile

Cactus Flowers (Houston, TX)
https://cactusflowers.bandcamp.com/

Drawing inspiration from late 60s psych rock to the more fuzzed out demonic tones of the 70s stoner casualties — Cactus Flowers delivers the hypnotic sound of ecstasy in slow motion. The Houston-based three piece formed in 2016 and were quickly added to the Houston music scene – playing several showcases and landing a recording session at Steamboat Amp Works.

Treehouse Project (Houston, TX)

“Got to pay your dues…” The lyric from the old song “It Don’t Come Easy” resonates for the late-blooming Treehouse Project band. Breaking in and knocking on the door of the music scene in Houston is not as easy as singing a song. Treehouse Project is not your typical band either. The trio of rock groove-makers performs a raw, progressive sound it calls “garage prog,” putting their original music out however and wherever they can.

The High Mile (Houston, TX)
http://thehighmiletx.com

Starting off as a two piece, The High Mile began as a friendship amongst college classmates and eventually grew from there. The band is now a four piece group comprised of Randy “Rasta” Mendoza on bass and vocals, Mike Wagner on guitar, Ryan Damian on drums, and Ryan Heffernan on keys, guitars, and vocals. Their combined influences bring a new twist on reggae and the Red Sun EP is the epitome of where they are at with their sound right now.
