Houston Press Best of 2013 Winner
Best Open-Mike Comedy Night Houston 2013
“With a decent amount of local talent, Houston deserves more stages to feature homegrown comics. Thankfully, Rudz has stepped forward to devote one night a week to nurturing newcomers and showcasing seasoned vets…you can check out a rotating cast of characters, for free — you’d be pretty hard-pressed to find a more fun way to spend a Monday night. Especially if your next Monday night involves going to a funeral. Trust us, this’ll be waaaay funnier.” – Houston Press
Our Free Comedy Open Mic Show Opens At 7:30. Show starts at 8:00

Saturday 31 March 2018 – Brand New Hearts * Magnet School * Jay Satellite

Brand New Hearts (Houston, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/BrandNewHearts/

Magnet School (Austin, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/magnetschooltheband/

With a distinct sonic style that stands alone in a sea of underground music, Magnet School’s unique tunings and approach to songwriting have earned them a place in Texas & Worldwide as a class act. With an EP, 2x Studio Albums, and UK 7″ vinyl release under their belt all with stellar reviews, Magnet School have garnered lots of attention and credibility on the Alternative Rock, Dream Pop, & Shoegaze scenes. From being chosen as a Buzzcatcher band by Spin Magazine for their amazing debut album “Tonight we drink… Tomorrow we battle the evil at hand,” to touring the UK with key shows in London, Sheffield, and Liverpool playing Will Sergeant’s (Echo & The Bunneymen) FRICTION Presents where they made an instant impression. Their 3rd release and first UK 7″ single “The Sitch” was a highlight on the sampler disc for the Midem Festival in Cannes, France – they have turned heads in many places around the Globe.

Jay Satellite (Austin, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/jaysatellite/

Jay Satellite is a quartet from Hutto that unabashedly rings out early ‘90s big guitar power pop with catchy melodies and songs you swear you’ve heard before…but there’s a dark undercurrent to the lyrics and guitar chords and a quirkiness that shows their record collections go deep towards post-punk, goth, shoegaze and beyond.

Wednesday 28 March 2018 – r/Houston Board Gaming at Rudyard’s Pub (6:30-9:30pm)

r/Houston Board Gaming at Rudyard’s Pub!

Every Wednesday Night

Come have a drink, meet some interesting people, and play some awesome board games. Our meeting place is Rudyard’s Pub on Waugh. They have damn good food and a decent beer selection. Three parking lots to the North, West, and South West and some street parking a block over.

If you are new to the world of modern board games have no fear, everyone is awesome and you’ll have a great time. We have all types of games; social games with easy rules and lots of interaction or more competitive games as well as cooperative ones. TableTop on youtube is a good place to get a feel for the types of games we usually play.

We average around 30 people and we’re upstairs in the private event area.
